Georgie’s Inspiring Ben Nevis Challenge
Last Christmas, Georgie came to visit us in Kenya and stayed with us for a couple days. During her stay, she fully immersed herself in the local way of life and was deeply moved by her experience. She later shared her reflections in an article titled Courageous in Kenya.
While still in Kenya, Georgie had an idea that would soon turn out to something incredible. “I know a friend who climbed a mountain to raise funds for the less privileged,” she told me. “I think I can gather a team and do the same to support KINI.”
I agreed to the idea as it was a brilliant one.
True to her word, Georgie began mobilizing support right away. While still here, she spoke to family, friends, and others back home about her experience here, and began planning the climb. She also set up a GoFundme page where well-wishers could donate to the cause.
In just four months, Georgie had brought more than fifteen people to take on the Mt. Ben Nevis challenge. When the day finally came, we sent our best wishes to all climbers all the way from Kenya.

Despite tough weather, cold rain and fog, Georgie and her team pressed on with determination and big smiles. From the photos and videos shared by the team, you could see joy and commitment, even through challenging conditions.
One of the standout moments was Georgie doing the handstand challenge at the summit. Marking a symbolic achievement for the team.

The GoFundMe campaign raised over 2000 Pounds and still going, all of which will go towards supporting KINI’s classroom construction and our rescue center projects.
We are incredibly grateful to Georgie for her passion and commitment, and to every single person who joined her on this journey. Your efforts, despite the cold and rain, will have a lasting impact, and we won’t forget them.
Thank you for climbing for a cause. Thank you for choosing to support KINI.
